The red clay of the Tennis Club Milano Alberto Bonacossa host the best under 18 tennis players on the international scene. The 2023 edition of the Bonfiglio Trophy - Internazionali d'Italia Juniores, will be held from 20 to 28 of May.

HISTORY

The Bonfiglio Trophy has represented a prestigious date for the young hopefuls from all over the world, attempting to follow in the footpaths of the champions that were discovered at the Tennis Club Milano Alberto Bonacossa, for over half a century. Each year approximately 200 athletes coming from 34 countries participate in the Bonfiglio Trophy. During the week of the Tournament, entrance to the Tennis Club Milano Alberto Bonacossa is free and the average number of spectators is approximately 15,000.

The Bonfiglio Trophy puts Milano and its prestigious Tennis Club, on the level of the world capitals where the most important Juniors tournaments are held: Australian Open (Melbourne), Roland Garros (Paris), Wimbledon (London), US Open (New York), Orange Bowl (Miami).

The sponsorship of key national, regional, provincial and obviously sporting institutions is foreseen. The participation of these Entities at the event guarantees resonance, visibility and credibility, both in the territory of reference as well as on a national level.

The Bonfiglio Trophy is a prestigious window onto the world of Tennis and the best occasion offered to Italians passionate about the sport to meet tomorrow’s champions. In the past, 17 players that later would become n. 1 in world ATP-WTA rankings have participated and/or won: Lendl, Becker, Muster, Edberg, Courier, Kafelnikov, Rios, Kuerten, Federer, Roddick, Navratilova, Capriati, Hingis, Safina, Ivanovic, Wozniacki and Novak Djokovic. Many other important champions have played on the clay courts in Via Arimondi: Panatta, Barazzutti, Forget, Ivanisevic, Coria, Almagro, Del Potro, Soderling, Seppi, Luzzi, Fognini, Sabatini, Farina, Schiavone, Pennetta, Kournikova, Azarenka, Pavlyuchenkova...and many more.
